Russia is a big market, with export turnover reaching hundreds of billions of dollars each year. On this trip, Vietnamese entrepreneurs are hoping to establish their own brands in Russia and to create a new bond with local businessmen and corporations, said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Han, General Director of the Phu Nhuan Service Joint Stock Company (MASECO).

According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Truong, General Director of the Viet Tien Garment and Textile Company, the Viet Tien brand has received positive feedback from Russian consumers. Each Viet Tien shirt is sold at an average price of US$100.

In recent years, Viet Nam’s aquatic products have not gained much of a foothold in the Russian market. The trip will be a good opportunity for Vietnamese entrepreneurs to conduct a detailed survey of local consumers’ tastes and thus to gain standing in the Russian Market, said Mr. Phung Quoc Man, General Director of the Sai Gon Aquatic Products Trading Joint Stock Company.

Mr. Nguyen Van Pham, General Director of the Vietnam-Russia Bank (VRB) said that VRB was launched as a bridge to connect Vietnamese businessmen with their Russian counterparts. Russian banking networks are on the rise and conduct business with many countries in addition to Viet Nam.

According to SGGP editor-in-chief Duong Trong Dat, head of the Organization Board, SGGP has held many conferences and seminars including “Journey to Dien Bien” and “Businessmen in Time of Integration” to help promote local entrepreneurs and corporations. He also expressed his appreciation of the positive changes made by local businessmen in recent years.

To facilitate their trip, Vietnamese entrepreneurs were provided with visas in the span of one hour, instead of the regular week’s wait. Some officials accompanying the delegation were given VIP plane tickets. Viet Tien’s high-quality shirts, meanwhile, will be given as souvenirs to Russian businessmen.

The delegation will spend its week meeting Russian businessmen in Moscow, visiting the Mekong Emeral Trade Center, and touring local factories.
