Vietnam - Russia’s important partner

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the Vietnam-Russia business forum in Moscow yesterday evening (local time in Vietnam) with the presence of hundreds of businesses and investors of the both sides.

Representative leaders of Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation affirmed that Vietnam is one of the key partners of Russia and cooperative relations between the two countries have been developing more and more.

However, the two sides need to strive for strengthening further comprehensive strategic relations. Russia is willing to share experiences in the modern technological projects with Vietnam such as recycled energy, environmental protection technology. 

Both sides have also improved cargo exchange activities, especially, high value products.

Vietnam is the first country which signed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Asia-Europe Economy Union. This is considered as a favorable opportunity to expand cooperation relations between two countries’ enterprises. Russia will create favorable conditions for two countries’ businesses in strengthening the cooperative relations. 

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc said: “Vietnam is an attractive destination for foreign investors in the context of international economic integration”. He also suggested both Vietnamese and Russian enterprises will continue strengthening further exchange, discussion, dialogue and analyze reasons causing trade barriers and propose preferential policies to increase Vietnam- Russia’s two way trade turnover to US$ 10 billion by 2020.

On the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a meeting with Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Matviyenko at Hanoi – Moscow Culture, Trading and Hotel Centre.

At the reception, two sides highly appreciated Vietnam- Russia’s cooperative relations and achievements in all fields in the previous years.

On the occasion, Vietnamese PM visited staffs and officials of Embassy of Vietnam in Russia. He announced the voting result of the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Then, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc also attended in a groundbreaking ceremony of the first phase of large-scale cow breeding and farming project of Vietnamese dairy firm TH True Milk in Moscow, Russia.

Russian Federation Minister of Agriculture Volokolamsk, Governor of Moscow Oblast Andrey Vorobiev and leaders from two countries’ ministries and agencies also joined in the ceremony.
