At the reception, Khai said Vietnam-Russia ties are developing strongly with great achievements in all fields. The two nations will mark the 25th anniversary of the signing of a treaty on basic principles for the Vietnam-Russia friendship this year and celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations in 2020, he said.
Khai said after the Vietnamese Government Inspectorate and the Russian anti-corruption department signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in preventing and combating corruption in 2014, the two sides have exchanged information and experience to deal with challenges in the fight against corruption, ensure the building of a transparent law-governed state and gradually drive back corruption.
Both sides recognized the importance of increasing bilateral collaboration in the coming time, particularly in training personnel and developing join works between anti-corruption agencies of Vietnamese and Russian localities, he said.
The two sides agreed to start negotiations for the amendment and upgrade of the MoU, Khai added, expressing his hope that they will soon sign the revised pact.
Echoing Khai’s view, Anikin believed that the above-said cooperation activities will strengthen cooperative ties between the two agencies and deepen the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.
He expected that the two agencies will boost bilateral cooperation and exchange experience in the fight against corruption.
At the later talks, the two sides discussed issues of common concern, particularly those related to the revision of their 2014 MoU on cooperation.
