Spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi on February 12 replied to a reporters’ query on Vietnam’s reaction to the DPRK’s nuclear test carried out in the morning of February 12.

He stressed that the act breaches related resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, complicates situation in the region, and threatens peace and stability there.

Mr. Nghi called on related parties to keep calm and solve issues on the Korean Peninsula peacefully.

“Vietnam’s consistent policy is to back comprehensive nuclear test ban, non-proliferation of nuclear weapon and total disarmament of this weapon,” the spokesman emphasised.
