Vietnam FFC calls on urgent support for flood victims

Amid difficulties of overcoming serious consequences and damages from recent heavy downpours and flash flood, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (Vietnam FFC) yesterday launched urgent support for flood victims in the south-central provinces.

On behalf of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan sent his deep sympathy for flood victims, and called on support and participation of Vietnamese and overseas community for the central victims.

The FFC leader shared that the committee has received active contributions and donations from Government, member organizations of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, agencies, armed forces and people nationwide for flood victims in the previous days.

As the Tet holiday is upcoming, million people in Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam are facing difficulties about food & beverage and residence.

Developing the national beautiful traditions of Vietnamese people being solidarity and "the good leaves protect the worn-out leaves", the committee called on community to urgently assist flood victims in the south- central provinces.

After the launching ceremony, the FFC received VND 8.4 billion from the ministries, departments, political and social organizations. The money will be delivered to local people in the five central provinces. 

On the same day, Deputy President of Vietnam Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh visited and gifted the flood victims. She handed over 20 gifts for local people in Duc Nhuan commune, Mo Duc district with total value of VND 20 million; and presented VND 200,000 million for Quang Ngai poor children's Fund.
