Vietnam expresses sympathy with Italy over earthquake losses

President Nguyen Minh Triet sent Tuesday a message to President Giorgio Napolitano to express his condolences over strong earthquake in central Italy on April 6.

 On April 7, 2009, Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Dung said “We deeply moved by the news that the earthquake in Italy has caused damages and many casualties. We would like to send our most profound condolences and sincere sympathy to the Italian people and victims’ families”. 

“It’s our belief that the Italian people will certainly overcome earthquake aftermath, resume production and stabilize their lives soon.

The earthquake struck in the small hours of Monday, causing great damage to the historic town apart from the losses of lives.
