Vietnam Coast Guard receives advanced patrol boat

A multipurpose patrol boat with number code of CSB 8005 has been handed over to Vietnam Coast Guard High Command in the coastal central city of Da Nang on September 25.

The ship is 90 m long and 14 m wide; and driven by four diesel electric engines with a total capacity of 8,960kW.

Equipped with advanced technological systems and armed two 14.5 mm air-defense guns and 23mmcannon, the boat can work in bad weather condition, especially in offshore areas. It has a range of 5,000 nautical miles and can operate continuously up to 40 days at sea.

Putting the CSB 8001 boat into operation would help improving patrol ability and effect, rescue and aid and the country's sea and island sovereignty protection as well as transporting troops and assisting the forces working on islands.
