Vietnam asks Malaysia to release suspected murderer Doan Thi Huong

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh yesterday asked Malaysia to release Vietnamese suspected murderer Doan Thi Huong via phone call with Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin.

Regarding the case of Vietnamese suspected murderer Doan Thi Huong in the death of the citizen of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in Malaysia in February, 2017, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh affirmed senior leaders as well as public opinion of Vietnam are concerned about the trial process as well as the results of the case. 

As this reason, Vietnam suggested Malaysia to ensure fairness and release Vietnamese citizen Doan Thi Huong, the Vietnamese Deputy PM said.

Beside the suggestion, the Deputy PM cum Foreign Minister also talked with the Malaysian Foreign Minister about the relations between the two countries.

Both leaders affirmed closed collaboration between the two nations on basic of bilateral and multilateral ties in recent years, and ready to continue strengthening exchanges between high- ranking delegations at all level, regularly maintain bilateral cooperation mechanisms in order to constantly consolidate and tighten the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Malaysia.
