Viet Nam Promoting Human Rights

Viet Nam’s efforts to implement the international conventions through changes to the national legal framework are highly regarded by the international community, Mr. Binh added.

Also at the seminar, David Robinson from the Australian Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (HREOC) said Viet Nam has achieved remarkable accomplishments in the promotion of human rights and has been an active participant on the international human rights scene.

Australian Ambassador to Viet Nam, W. Tweddell, also participated in the seminar along with human rights experts from both Australia and Viet Nam.

The seminar was held on January 22 and 23 in Ha Noi by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs with cooperation from the Australian Overseas Aid Program (AusAID), HREOC, and the Australian Embassy in Viet Nam.
