Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and her delegation yesterday gave gifts to disadvantaged children in the central province of Quang Tri on the Mid-autumn festival.
At the gift-giving ceremony, the Vice President also presented 100 scholarships each worth VND1.2 million (US$53.8) to Agent Orange/ dioxin students and 100 gifts each worth VND1 million to kids in the district facing difficulties after sea pollution. Children were given a bag of gifts of moon cake worth VND500,000 supported by benefactors. Total gifts cost VND320 million.
In addition, she gave VND50 million to the fund for supporting the poor in the province. She proposed the local government should pay more attention to kids not let anyone drop schools because of financial difficulties.
She wished all kids to have good mid-autumn season
On the same day, Ms. Thinh paid floral and incense tribute to the province martyr’s cemetery Truong Son and war martyrs at Quang Tri ancient citadel.
