The entire route will have eight non-stop toll collection gates at three tollbooths including Long Phuoc, Highway 50 and Dau Giay.
After customers register to get On Board Unit (OBU) cards at the tollbooths, Vietnam Expressway Services Engineering Joint Stock Company (VEC E) will install OBU equipment on their vehicles and give them IC-cards to make payment.
According to VEC, the implementation of the ETC system aims to facilitate management and supervision of investors’ operations comprising toll collection, create transparency and fairness in investment activities and reduce traffic jam at tollbooths.
With the vehicular traffic growth rate of 25-30 percent a year, HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway has regularly seen traffic jam during peak time, at weekend and in holidays.
