The project has a total cost of US$10 million financed by the U.S. Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

MAG will coordinate with the province to detect and remove cluster bombs, mines and other explosive weapons that have threatened daily lives of local people, and raise residents and visitors’ awareness on issues related to unexploded ordnance (UXOs).

Quang Tri Province has so far cleared 8,399 hectares contaminated with mines and bombs, removed and destroyed 556,448 UXOs.

At present, about 80 percent of land area in the province still suffers heavy war consequences.
