The United States Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius announced the U.S. Government would give Vietnam 500,000 US dollars to assist residents who were affected by the recent drought and saltwater influx.
The aid aims to help effected inhabitants in the drought regions access to safety water source and use of water storage equipment.
With the support, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) cooperates with Vietnam's Red Association to provide water storage tanks, water filter systems, water filter tablets for rural areas.
From April until now, the U. S. Government sponsored US$ 850, 000 to support programs against climate change in Vietnam.
Since 2000, USAID has provided US$ 12 million to help Vietnam increase their resilience against disaster risk.
