Two bodies recovered from landslide debris in Hoa Binh Province

After one week of search operations, rescue workers recovered the bodies of the couple buried under the landslide on Highway 6, in the northern province of Hoa Binh on Tuesday, informed the Directorate for Roads in Vietnam.

The couple was buried under tens of thousands of cubic metres of landslide debris on the highway in Dong Bang Commune of Mai Chau District in the Hoa Binh Province.

Tens of bulldozers and excavating machines are continuing to remove about 35,000 cubic metres of landslide debris from the highway.

Nguyen Ngoc Dong, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Transport said that Highway 6 will be reopened for traffic by February 24 at the latest.
