Last year, the department reported a rocket of newly registered trucks as businesses rushed up purchase of new trucks to meet transport demand after tightened controls on overloaded vehicles. However the demand has been saturated this year, the representative said.

That has caused low registration number and affected road toll revenue.

Road toll collection is expected to not fluctuate much in the second half this year and total VND6,001 billion (US$270 million) the entire year accounting for 95 percent of plan.
