Tran Hung Dao forest recognized special national relic site

A ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and 25th anniversary of All People's National Defense Festival (December 22nd) and announcing the special national relic site of Tran Hung Dao was held in the northern province of Cao Bang on December 15.

The ceremony saw the attendance of State President Truong Tan Sang; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Huynh Ngoc Son; Ha Thi Khiet, Party Central Committee Secretary and head of the Party Commission for Mass Mobilization; Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Xuan Lich, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army together with Party, military, and State officials.

The Vietnam Armed Propaganda Unit for National Liberation (the predecessor of the Vietnam People’s Army) was founded in Tran Hung Dao forest in 1944.

The forest covering an area of over 200 hectares is located in Tam Kim and Hoa Tham communes in Nguyen Binh District, 34km far from Cao Bang City.

The special national relic site of Tran Hung Dao was improved at a total investment of VND100 billion and completed on the occasion of commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.
