Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang ordered a plan for the construction of the new train station to be built near the grave of General Vo Nguyen Giap after receiving many complaints, according to Vietnam Railways Corporation.
The railway runs from the north to Quang Binh Province. It will stop at Dong Hoi Train Station. Passengers are forced to travel 60 kilometers after disembarking the train if they are to visit the grave.
The new station will only be 5 kilometers away from the grave and will create much more convenience for visitors.
Thousands of people visit the grave everyday which makes it a logical to construct, said Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang.
Vietnam Railways Corporation is currently selecting a site to build the station.
