Tra Vinh Province approves housing plan for poor people

The People’s Committee of Tra Vinh Province has just approved a house development program for towns and rural residential areas, in which 15,000 households living under poor economic conditions or are on the poverty line, will receive support to build and repair their dilapidated houses.

The overall target of the program is set from now until 2020. As per the program, 15,000 households on the poverty line will receive support to build and upgrade their run-down homes.

During the period 2012 to 2015, Tra Vinh Province will construct some houses on 80,000 square meters of land area for low-income groups,   staff members of state companies, workers in towns and industrial zones, and also official houses for teachers coming from far off districts and students pursuing their studies in the province.

For the period 2016 to 2020, the program will continue the same task to cover more 300,000 square meters of land area.

The total investment cost to carry out the program is estimated at around VND19,300 billion ($926,000).
