Tra Vinh City becomes second-grade urban area

Tra Vinh People’s Committee on September 1 received the Prime Minister’s decision recognizing Tra Vinh city to be the second –grade urban area under directly Tra Vinh province.

Tra Vinh People’s Committee on September 1 received the Prime Minister’s decision recognizing Tra Vinh city to be the second –grade urban area under directly Tra Vinh province.

Tra Vinh city is center of Tra Vinh province with 6,803 ha, accounting for 3 percent of the provincial square. It is located on National Road No.53. with 202 km far from HCMC and 100km from Can Tho.

In 2015, industry & handicraft value reached VND 3,919 billion, an increase of 14.49 percent compared to 2014; revenue of services sector was VND 5,679billion, an increase of 14.66 percent agaisnt 2014.

The economic growth rate in 2012-2014 period reached 11.97 percent. Average income per capita was VND 62.928 million in 2015, equal to 1.45 fold compared to average in the country.

The city inaugurated and inplemented urban & architect management mechanisms and step by step built Tra Vinh city to be green, clean and friendly urban.

On the same day, Mr Pham Trung Kien, Director of Co Chien Investment Company Ltd said starting September 1, the company officially collects toll fee crossing Co Chien bridge which is to connect Ben Tre Province and Tra Vinh.

This is BOT project with total investment capital of VND 1,207billion. The time duration for collecting fees should be 14 years and 6 months.
