Tidal flooding in southern to prolong until yearend

Tidal flooding will prolong in the southern region in the next two months, said National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center.

It is the peak time of high tide and flooding season in the southern region now. The Mekong Delta has to cope with high tide and floodwater from the upper reaches of the Mekong River.
Water level in Saigon and Mekong rivers is reducing now and will further drop to below alarming level 1 on October 16. However it will continue rising to reach 1.45 meters on November 25 and reach its peak on December 24-26.
In the central region, cold front has been causing medium to heavy rainfall in provinces from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai. Mountainous area have been warned of landslid while low lying area should watch out flooding.
