The aircraft was used by French troops during the Vietnam War.

Local citizens found the aircraft in 2010. It is now removed from the beach to ensure safety for tourists during the Lang Co Bay Festival which will take place in the end of May.

Many parts of the plane were found intact three to six meters under the sand. The plane is estimated to be 12 meters long.

The remaining parts of the aircraft will be removed from the beach on April 27.
