Tet gifts offered to soldiers & people in Truong Sa

A ceremony to review a campaign offering Tet gifts worth VND4.75 billion to soldiers and people in Truong Sa and the DK1 platform was held in Hanoi on January 30 by the Vietnam Red Cross Society.

A ceremony to review a campaign offering Tet gifts worth VND4.75 billion to soldiers and people in Truong Sa and the DK1 platform was held in Hanoi on January 30 by the Vietnam Red Cross Society.

The organization board handed over VND1 billion to the coast guard and fisheries surveillance forces; offered gifts worth VND 1 million/each to 120 families of disadvantaged soldiers and 3,630 poor fishery households in 28 coastal cities and provinces nationwide.

In addition, a texting campaign titled “Joining hands for the homeland’s sea and islands” was launched on May 19, 2014 by the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Ministry of Information and Communications with aiming to encourage coast guard, fisheries surveillance forces and fishermen who are working to protect the national sea and islands.

About VND24 billion has been raised in the campaign. 93 cameras and 23 seawater filters were handed over to the Vietnamese coast guard and fisheries surveillance forces.
