On Wednesday afternoon, a taxi driver successfully helped a passenger couple with delivery of their child while enroute to hospital in Hoi An Town in the central province of Quang Nam, after the pregnant woman suddenly developed labor pains.
At 4.30pm on Wednesday, taxi driver Nguyen Van Con of Mai Linh Taxi Company received an emergency phone call from Cua Dai Ward to pick up a man and his pregnant wife to take to hospital.
Enroute at Phuoc Trach Commune, the woman suddenly began to go into labor. Con stopped the taxi and together with the woman’s husband successfully carried out a delivery right inside the cab.
The newborn baby was then rushed to Hoi An General Hospital. The mother, 27-year-old Pham Thi Phuong from Bai Ong Hamlet in Tan Hiep Island Commune is doing well along with the baby.
In May last year, driver Van Cong Minh of Mai Linh Taxi Company also successfully carried out a delivery on pregnant Nguyen Thi Ba from Duy Xuyen District of Quang Nam Province.
