SGGP Newspaper readers continue to aid storm victims

Many readers of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper have come to the newspaper office to donate money, food, and clothing for storm victims in the central provinces after reading about the heavy devastation caused by the recent storms and floods.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tung Van, a pensioner in her 80’s walked on crutches from Nguyen Thi Street in District 5 to donate VND300,000 from her retirement pension.

On October 18, a SGGP relief delegation led by Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Tan Phong, visited and delivered VND150 million to storm victims in Loc Binh and Loc Vinh Communes in Phu Loc District in Thua Thien-Hue Provinces, and in some communes in Dai Loc District in Quang Nam Province for rebuilding of houses.

Meanwhile, by October 17, the Vietnamese Fatherland Front in Ho Chi Minh City has received more than VND9 billion and nearly 27 tons of relief goods such as rations, sugar, milk, and clothing from 741 organizations and individuals.

The Vietnamese Fatherland Front in Ho Chi Minh City has delivered nearly VND9.8 billion (of which VND5 billion is from the City budget) and nearly 25 tons of relief items to storm victims in the central provinces, besides also entrusting the HCMC Communist Youth Union with nearly 8.8 tons of relief items to send to storm victims in Quang Nam Province and Da Nang City.
