Towards the end of their visit to Laos, a delegation of high-ranking officials from Ho Chi Minh City visited the Champasac Province.
Vietnam is now a leading investor in the province with several investments coming from HCMC.
Cooperation between the two territories has created favorable conditions for Champasac to carry out its poverty-alleviation program.
Several of the provincial officials who have received training in HCMC, have applied valuable socioeconomic methods in the province.
At the meeting, Le Thanh Hai, Politburo member and HCMC Party Committee Secretary said that the city would do its best to help the development in Laos.
HCMC will give priority and focus on investment incentives for Laos. Additionally, it will also strengthen cooperation in all the provinces of Laos, especially Champasac, in the fields of economics, culture and education.
On this occasion, Sonsay Siphandon, Chief of Champasac province, gave HCMC the second class Labor Medal for achievements in education and training programs made by HCMC in his province.
