Russia’s cargo aircraft carrying humanitarian aid arrives in Cam Ranh

A large- sized plane of Russian Federation RA-76363 carrying 40 tons of humanitarian cargoes landed in Cam Ranh airport of Khanh Hoa province at 0:00 am today (following the local time of Vietnam) to support Vietnamese people in typhoon-hit areas.

Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province Nguyen Duy Bac, Chief of Russian Embassy in Hanoi Maksim D. Mikhalev welcomed and met the delegation. 

The Red Cross Society of Khanh Hoa province said that the humanitarian aid includes 14 tons of sugar, over five tons of milk, 6.7 tons of canned pork, 2.79 tons of canned fish, 10.304 tons of canned beef and more than 1 ton of canvas.

After receiving 40 tons of humanitarian aid, chairman Nguyen Duy Bac - on behalf of the authority and people of Khanh Hoa province and the south- central region of Vietnam thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Government and people for their donation to help Vietnamese people overcome the Damrey's consequences.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin directed a US$ five million support to typhoon – hit areas in Vietnam.
