Quang Ninh to Quang Tri provinces actively cope with tropical low-pressure ​

Due to the affection of a tropical low-pressure, the coastal region of north of East Sea experiences strong winds of level 6 to 7 and prolonged rains. Waves are from 3 to 4m high and rough seas, said the National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting.

It announced that at 7am this morning, a tropical low-pressure centered at 21.5 degrees north latitude, 118.5 degrees east longitude and 240km to the southwest of Taiwan (China).

The strongest winds near the center of tropical low-pressure were measured at 50 to 60km per hour.

The center estimated that in the next 24 hours, the tropical low-pressure will move north-east at a speed of 20 to 25km per hour. At 7am on June 15m it will center at 25.0 degrees north latitude, 122.5 degrees east longitude.

Over the next 24 to 28 hours, a tropical low-pressure will keep moving northeast with wind speed of 30 to 35km per hour.

Its influence will cause strong winds; heavy rains and 3m to 4m high waves on the waters off the coast of the northeast and north of the East Sea.

The northern region will also suffer rains, strong winds and large waves.

 The National Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control

sent its dispatch to the coastal cities from Quang Ninh to Quang Tri to ask the localities to have measures to deal with the affection of tropical low-pressure.

The committee asked the provinces, cities of Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Tri to instruct the departments and relevant agencies to actively cope with strong winds and large waves.
