The first National School-to-Work Transition survey has shown that the quality of jobs available for young Vietnamese aged between 15 and 29 is a matter of grave concern.
The findings of the survey, carried out by the General Statistics Office and the International Labor Organization (ILO) in early 2013, indicated that low-productive employment among a large section of the youth population has impacted growth prospects in the country and thus raised considerable concern.
According to the survey, out of ten youth of working age, eight tend to accept unofficial jobs and many young people undertake unstable and temporary employment.
