Program “Welcoming Spring in Border Areas 6” Warps up

Yesterday, the task team of the program “Welcoming Spring in Border Areas 6”,  got back to HCM City after finishing their 6-day social work trips to the Central Highlands  to visit and offer gifts to poor ethnic minorities, families of wounded soldiers and revolutionary martyrs, families that supported revolutionary activities during the war and soldiers of border posts in the region.   The team offers gifts to poor ethnic minority families in Gia Rai Province.

Yesterday, the task team of the program “Welcoming Spring in Border Areas 6”,  got back to HCM City after finishing their 6-day social work trips to the Central Highlands  to visit and offer gifts to poor ethnic minorities, families of wounded soldiers and revolutionary martyrs, families that supported revolutionary activities during the war and soldiers of border posts in the region.

Previously, on January 30 at Buon Don Ward, the team offered 100 gifts worth VND200,000 (US$ 12.50) each to poor ethnic minority families in Gia Rai Province.

On the same day, at the Medical Center of Buon Don Ward, cardiologists of the Heart Institute examined and gave medicines free of charge to more than 300 patients. The team also drove over 70 kilometers through forests to visit and give gifts to soldiers of Se Re Pok Border Post.

During their trip, the team donated a total of 1,858 gifts, 5,000 kilos or rice, milk and instant noodles to ethnic minorities, poor families, children affected by the Agent Orange and orphans.

Doctors of the Heart Institute going with the team in the trip examined and given medicines to nearly 1,500 poor people including ethnic minorities, families of wounded soldiers and revolutionary martyrs,  families  that supported revolutionary activities during the war, children affected by the Agent Orange and orphans in the Central Highlands.

Notably, cardiologists found two children and 10 adults suffering severe heart diseases and then urged the local medical centers to transfer them to hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City for necessary treatment.

The team also offered 12 TV sets and gifts worth VND100 million (US$6,262) to soldiers of border posts, and task forces against Fulro in three provinces of  Kon Tum, Gia Lai and Dac Lac.

In note, the task team “Welcoming Spring in Border Areas 6” is jointly organized by the Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper, Muc Tim Magazine, Cong An Newspaper and HCMC Heart Institute aiming at giving health examinations, medicines and gifts to poor people for the New Lunar Year (Tet)’s holidays.
