Program held to illuminate needy children’s dream

In response to the Action Month for Children, the Vietnam Association for Protection of Children Rights and New Culture Media Company held the program titled  “ To illuminate dreams” on June 28 in Hanoi.

In response to the Action Month for Children, the Vietnam Association for Protection of Children Rights and New Culture Media Company held the program titled  “ To illuminate dreams” on June 28 in Hanoi.

The program aims to call for contribution from the community to help needy children who strive to better themselves.  Program organizers hoped that the program would play as a bridge to connect loves with disadvantaged children, help them accomplish dreams. 

In addition, they expected to encourage poor children to become useful citizens. 

This year the program has given scholarships and gifts to more than 1,000 children in 10 cities and provinces.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen expressed her happiness over children’s attempts to overcome their difficulties in life to accomplish dreams.

Representing for thousands of disadvantaged students nationwide, 60 exemplary disadvantaged students who have achieved good grades or good academic results in northern provinces of Lao Cai, Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, central province of Quang Tri, Mekong delta province of Long An, Hanoi, Da Nang city, Ho Chi Minh City attended the ceremony.

The organizers also presented 450 gifts to poor children in three rural communes in Lao Cai Province’s Bat Xat District.  In addition, the organizers called for contribution of medical workers to provide free treatment and medications to children in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. Moreover, the organizers gave 210 balls and sport uniform to students in special schools (schools for disable children) in provinces of  Dong Nai, Ninh Binh and Da Nang city.
