The PM has asked the province to send him a report before March 10 and work with relevant agencies to handle the case according to the law.
The company headquartered in Bau Xeo industrial park, Trang Bom district has closed down without paying thousands of workers wage and solving insurance regulation.
Before the Lunar New Year Festival, the owner of the company left Vietnam for South Korea, leaving over 2,000 workers in wage debt nearly VND14 billion (US$615,000).
Relating to the case, deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Doan Mau Diep says that authorized agencies have advanced on state budget to pay the workers half of January salary. Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has given them cash and presents during the Tet holiday.
Dong Nai province People’s Committee has set up a working group to keep a close eye on and handle the case. Of these, the provincial Department of Labor, Invalid and Social Affairs has asked job centers to directly contact firms in the province to find jobs for the workers from Textwell Vina Company.
In the worst case, the province will handle properties of the company to get funds to solve the wage and insurance debts.
Mr. Diep said that after the case of Texwell Vina Company, relevant agencies should learn from experiences, tightly supervise businesses on how they abide by the labor law and more closely inspect the use of labor.
