Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc encouraged people to use public transport for their travel in the national holidays.
In his dispatch to the Ministry of Transport on April 8, PM Phuc asked the ministries of transport, Public Security and locality authorities to increase transportation vehicles to serve people’s traveling demand in the upcoming national holidays.
The PM ordered the ministries to encourage people use public transport rather than personal vehicles especially for long distance or on national highways. In addition, he ordered related agencies to tighten control over passenger buses and curb traffic congestion and take advantage of the demand to increase ticket fare.
Especially, police officers must issue harsh penalties on traffic violation to prevent accidents.
