The Ministry of Transport May 18 said that the Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company (CRTC) submitted a document for the feasibility project of Cam Ranh international passenger station worth VND3,395 billion to serve over 2.5 million in 2020 and over 4 million in 2025.
CRTC proposed for new station because the airport’s current passenger station is overloaded. The current station was designed to receive 1.5 million passenger a year yet the station always welcome an increased number of passenger; for instance in 2015 it received over 2.7 million passengers.
The new passenger station will be designed in the area of 52,000 square meter with 80 booths to receive passengers, 10 gates into the airport, six luggage carousels and car parking lots. If it is approved, the project will start in September, 2016 and is expected to operate in December , 2017
