Party, State leaders commemorate martyrs

On the 64th commemoration of the Day for Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs, on July 27, a delegation from the Party Central Committee, the State President, the National Assembly, the Government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front laid a wreath and burned incense to commemorate heroes and martyrs at the martyrs’ monument, and pay homage to President Ho Chi Minh.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung attended the ceremony.

 

Former Communist Party General Secretaries Le Kha Phieu and Nong Duc Manh; former State President Tran Duc Luong; former NA Chairman Nguyen Van An, members of the Politburo, Party Central Committee secretaries, vice State Presidents, Deputy Prime Ministers, NA Vice Chairpersons and revolutionary seniors also joined the delegation.

The wreath of the delegation included a passage which conveyed the importance of remembering heroes’ and martyrs’ sacrifice forever.

 

Later the Party, State and Fatherland Front delegation led by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong laid a wreath and paid homage to President Ho Chi Minh.

Also on the same day, delegations from the Ministries of National Defence; Public Security; and Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs; and the Hanoi Party Committee and People’s Committee commemorated heroes and martyrs at the monument as well as paying homage to President Ho Chi Minh.

 

On July 27th morning,  the HCM city Party Committee, the Council Committee, the People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front in HCM city also celebrate the 64th commemoration of the Day for Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs at the place of historical monument of the “frontline for volunteers in Tet Mau Than 1968” in the rural Binh Chanh district of Hochiminh city.

 

Among the attendants were city Chairman Le Hoang Quan, the two vice secretaries of HCM city Party Committee  Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and Nguyen Van Dua, Duong Quan Ha, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in HCM city….

The delegation and the representatives of other city organizations and large number of Hochiminh city residents also laid a wreath and offered incense at the city Martyrs’ cemetery ( in district 9 and Thu Duc district), Ben Duoc  martyrs monument ( Cu Chi district) on the occasion of 64th   War Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day.

 

According to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, on the evening of July 26, incense offering and candle lighting ceremonies simultaneously took place at 2,098 martyrs’ cemeteries nationwide to pay tribute to those who laid down their lives for the country’s independence.

 

The events drew the participation of tens of thousands of youths nationwide.
