The delegation included Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, State President Truong Tan Sang, former President Tran Duc Luong, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, and former NA Chairman Nguyen Van An.

The leaders then paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum.

Delegations from the Ministries of Defense, Public Security, and Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Hanoi People’s Committee and Party Committee, among others, also paid tribute to the heroic martyrs and President Ho Chi Minh on the day.

State President Truong Tan Sang on July 27 met war veterans from Division 313 and 314 in Military Zone 2.

The veterans, who fought to protect the nation recalled their memories of fierce battles from the period 1984-1988.

The president Sang asked the Liaison Board for Veterans to cooperate with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and local authorities to make every effort in searching and gathering martyrs' remains as well as ensuring policies for people credited with meritorious service to the country.
