Oil firm gifts high-speed patrol boat to Vietnam Marine Police

The Petroleum Fertilizer and Chemicals Company Monday gifted a high-speed patrol boat to the Vietnam Marine Police in Vung Tau.

The Petroleum Fertilizer and Chemicals Company Monday gifted a high-speed patrol boat to the Vietnam Marine Police in Vung Tau.

The police’s Zone 3 based in the city will operate the boat.

Colonel Nguyen Quang Dam, the general director of the Vietnam Marine Police, said the vessel would be used for patrolling, fighting crime at sea, and protecting fisherman.

The 12-seat boat is equipped with two 600-horsepower engines and can reach speeds of 32 nautical miles per hour.

The vessel, made in Vietnam, cost VND12 billion (US$571,000).
