The Department of Transport in Ho Chi Minh City asked transport enterprises and bus stations not to increase bus fare prices.

Moreover, transport companies must provide enough fare to bus stations. Additionally, the Department requested bus stations to mobilize all vehicles to meet increased demand of travelling in and after Tet holiday in HCMC.
According to the Department’s request, bus stations should not stop services in the holidays and their managers must take heed to tighten the control over transport enterprises because some of which attempt to use the increased demand of travelling to lift up bus fare prices.
It is expected that passengers will travel a lot more in the route HCMC – the central province of Quang Ngai and the highlands provinces with increase in rate from 25 percent to 35 percent compared to normal days and from 5 percent to 10 percent year on year.
Bus station managers must mobilize vehicles to ease the crowd of passengers as quickly as possible as well as handle all problems to curb traffic gridlocks. More importantly, they should enhance supervision to fine violations.
The Department asked the Vietnam Directorate of Road and relevant agencies to work with traffic warden to ease congestions in the national highways.
