Gov’t officials and civil servants will have nine consecutive days off during Tet Lunar New Year, approved Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in a document sent to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs on Tuesday.
Accordingly, January 27 will be an off day, as it falls on a Friday, but will compensate by working on February 4 instead, which falls on a Saturday.
This will allow people to take an uninterrupted leave of nine full days from January 21-29, which is from the 28th day of the 12th lunar month this year to the 7th day of the first lunar month of next year.
Gov’t officials and civil servants will resume work on January 30, which falls on a Monday.
Organizations continuing to operate on Saturday and Sunday should adjust working shifts so that all employees can avail of enough free time to enjoy the Tet holidays.
