New party chief offers incense to Ho Chi Minh

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on Feb. 2 made an incense offering to the late President Ho Chi Minh at House 67, where the President drew his last breath 42 years ago, at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in the Presidential Palace.

Trong, who is also Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, affirmed that the Vietnamese generations will forever preserve, defend, promote, and execute the President’s strategic thoughts as well as follow his moral and simple and practical deeds.

The same day, Party General Secretary and National Assembly Chairman Trong burnt incense at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site and visised commemorative site for late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong.

Earlier, he made Tet visits to the former Party General Secretaries, the former State Presidents, the former National Assembly Chairman, and General Vo Nguyen Giap.
