New landslide in An Giang swallows six houses

The People’s Committee of Phu Huu commune said that the local functional agencies had helped residents living in land erosion overcome consequences and stabilize quickly their lives and business.

 

Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Huu commune Cao Xuan Dieu said that the total cost of landslide damage is in excess of VND 180 million.   

          

The committee supported VND 1 million and 10 kg rice per person for each effected household, called on eight other houses living near the landslide-prone areas to move out of the damaged zone, and installed warning boards at the damaged areas.

 

The Agriculture and Rural Development Department of An Giang province reported that river bank landslides have  occurred more frequently in many places and influenced lives and business of 20,000 families.

 

Therefore, the department suggested the local government quickly to find out solutions for resettlement of households in damaged areas.
