Nearly VND73 bln collected to support disadvantaged kids

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Children Sponsoring Fund in coordination with the Vietnam Television organized the 9th musical program named “Mua xuan cho em” (Spring for children) to raise fund.

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Children Sponsoring Fund in coordination with the Vietnam Television organized the 9th musical program named “Mua xuan cho em” (Spring for children) to raise fund.

In the program, the fund collected nearly VND73 billion (US$3,285,000) from organizations, individuals and enterprises in and out of the country.

On the occasion, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen presented certificate of merit to 11 organizations and benefactors that have done well in protecting and taking care of disadvantaged kids.

Additionally, she also awarded medals to 2 persons for doing good in the sector.

In 2015, the fund supported 108,566 children from disadvantaged families in 63 cities and provinces across the country with total spending of VND91.2 billion (US$4,104,000) of which VND88.7 billion coming from social contribution.
