Ministry of Transport yesterday opened to traffic a section in the expansion project of National Highway 1 crossing Quang Tri province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice General Director of Power Project Management Board No. 6 Nguyen Kieu Hung said the expansion project of National Highway 1 crossing Quang Tri province was completed two months earlier than expected.
The section connecting Vinh Linh to Doc Mieu and Hai Lang districts was invested by Project Management Board No. 6 with its total distance of 60 kilometers.
15 kilometers length National Highway 1 section from southern Doc Mieu to northern Dong Ha city was invested under the BOT model (Build-Operate-Transfer).
Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho appreciated efforts of investors, local people as well as support of Quang Tri province. On this occasion, the ministry decided to honor 20 groups and individuals who contributed to complete the project on time.
