Quang Tri Province has fulfilled its target of bringing electricity to all communes, four years ahead of the plan.

The work completed after nine months with a total investment of approximate VND14 billion ($615,000). It included the two transformer stations with capacity of 25KVA, a 12.43 km medium-voltage line and more than 5 kilometers of low-voltage line.

The work has benefited 144 households in the two villages which are surrounded by bush and streams; accordingly, workers faced difficulties in carrying out the project. The sector, local government and related agencies have convinced locals to give their land and cutting down trees to facilitate the work.

Chief of Tria village Ho Van Dan eagerly said that the village has 36 households yet 31 of them are poor; accordingly, the village gaining access to the national grid will help improve locals’ lives .

The project is expected to boost local development and protect national sovereignty in mountainous areas while contributing to realizing the target of building new-style rural area in a resolution issued by the provincial Party Committee.
