The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has sent President Nguyen Minh Triet a proposal of offering gifts worth cost VND309 billion (US$15.5 million) to those families who lost their relatives for the country during the Lunar New Year.

Under the proposal, every family will receive a gift worth VND200,000 – VND400,000 from the State President.

Every year, on the occasion of the ‘Tet holiday’ and the ‘Dead and Wounded Soldiers Day’ (July 27), the State President plans offer gifts to people for their distinguished service to the country.

Although each gift is small, it shows the State and Party’s sentiment concerning wounded soldiers and revolutionary martyr’s families.
