In an urgent dispatch to Public Private Partnership (PPP) Department, Directorate for Roads of Vietnam, National Highway 1A Tien Giang Investment Company, Project Management Unit 8 (PMU8), Transport Engineering Design Inc (TEDI), the ministry required them to study the three solutions, analyze strengths and weaknesses of each solution and propose the best one.
The first solution mentioned by the ministry is to keep the tollbooth’s location unchanged in National Highway 1A as present and supplement measures if necessary to ensure toll collection.
The second is to build another station in Cai Lay bypass and collect toll in both the highway and the bypass.
The third is to remove the current station in the highway to Cai Lay bypass and the state will refund the amount of capital which investors had invested in upgrading the highway’s road face.
National Highway 1A Tien Giang Investment Company and PMU8 have been asked to complete reports and send them to the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam before December 12.
The directorate should propose a solution to the ministry before December 17 and PPP Department should send a report to the ministry before December 22.
