The Ministry of Construction has asked the government to promulgate the housing policies so as to support the poorer households during the period 2011-2015, for the Program 167 of Stage 2.
During this period, the government will continue to support almost 500,000 very poor households with VND10 million each. Households can also borrow upto VND15 million per household at low interest rates.
Earlier, Program 167 Stage 1 had helped resolve housing problems for more than 515,000 poor households, ensuring housing for nearly 2.5 million people, accounting to 104 percent of initially-approved numbers of households.
Program 167 Stage 2 requires an annual capital fund of nearly VND19 trillion.
