Minister of Transport appointed as Party Chief of Ho Chi Minh City

The Poliburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam appointed Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang as the Secretary of Party Committee in Ho Chi Minh City on the final working day of the year of the Goat.

Mr. Pham Minh Chinhwho is the head of Human Resource Board of the Party Central Committee announced the decision of appointment of Mr. Dinh La Thang at a conference of the city’s Party Committee today and Mr. Dinh The Huynh who is the standing member of the Secretary of Party Central Committee gave him the decision.

Mr. Dinh La Thang achieved Ph.D diploma and has been elected to the Party Central Committee twice. He was elected to the Poliburo for the 2015-2020 term. 

Speaking the conference, Mr. Dinh The Huynh said that Mr. Dinh La Thang is an excellent cadre so he is unanimously appointed by the Poliburo  to the Secretary of the Party Committee in Ho Chi Minh City which is the economic hub and a cultural, scientific and educational center of the country.

Mr. Dinh La Thang said that he was moved for the appointment and proud of being selected as the Party Secretary of the city named after Uncle Ho. He promised to dedicate whole his mind, his strength to   joining hands with the city Party Committee, city government and people to develop the city.

Two days before received the new mission  Mr. Thang as the Minister of Transport fired off an official of Vietnam Railway for proposing to import over 20 year old railway carriages from China.

At the conference representatives of the Poliburo also announced the appointment of Mr Vo Van Thuong who is the Standing Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee as the Head of the Propaganda and Education Board of the Central Committee.

Mr. Vo Van Thuong achieved Master in Philosophy and was the youngest leader of the youth in the city in 2000s. He was appointed as the Standing Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee in 2014 and reelected in 2015.
