Memorial to President Ho Chi Minh inaugurated in Laos

This is a particularly important heritage site in the country, a place associated with childhood memories of beloved Uncle Ho and where many of his artifacts are preserved.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed that granting the National Historic Memorial a special ranking certificate honors the late President Ho Chi Minh and his great contribution to the country and the Vietnamese people. This address is in the hearts of every Vietnamese and international friend. Every year millions of domestic and international tourists visit the late President Ho Chi Minh relic site.

In related development, the inauguration of the memorial complex to late President Ho Chi Minh took place in Khammouane Province in Laos on December 7, in the presence of Lao Vice President Bounnhang Volachith and Vietnamese National Assembly vice chairwoman Tong Thi Phong.

Addressing the event, which was jointly held by Khammouane Province and the Lao Kaysone Phomvihane Museum, Phong highlighted the historical and political importance of the memorial, saying it is a symbol of the special solidarity and friendship between the two nations.

Khamsay Damlath, Governor of Khammouane Province and Souvandi Sisavath, Director of the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum, briefed the audience on the life and revolutionary work of late President Ho Chi Minh who laid the foundation for the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos. They highly valued the role President Ho Chi Minh played and his dedication to the revolutionary movements in both countries.

The 1.5 hectare memorial was built in Xiangvang village in Nongbok District of Khammouane Province, where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked during his revolutionary days in Laos
