This morning, the National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting said the water levels in Mekong River reached its peak at 3.37m yesterday October 12 on Tien River at Tan Chau Station; at 3.23m on Hau River at Chau Doc Station, above warning level one at 0.23m; water levels downstream on Mekong River was at warning levels two and three.
On October 17, the water levels will peak at 3.05m at Tan Chau Station; at Chau Doc Station 2.90m and at downstream Mekong River’s stations will be below warning level 1.
An Giang authorities are taking many measures to support flood-hit areas. The province set up 400 rescue groups with 3,700 members to help local people living in low-lying and risk-prone areas.
