MARD bans Cysteamine in animal feed

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) yesterday issued a circular to ban Cysteamine into the list of banned chemicals in animal feed in Vietnam.

The circular will take effect on March 1, 2017.

Before, newspaper in the country had articles of the use of Cysteamine in animal feed and husbandry. Companies and farm owners overused the hazardous chemical which pose a risk on the health of customers.

Inspectors from the Ministry opened an inspection detecting farmers to use the dangerous chemical. Inspectors issued administrative fine of VND360 million, VND197 million to biotechnology company Thien An in Dong Hoa District in the central province of Phu Yen and Reformed Technology Company at Tan Binh District in Ho Chi Minh City respectively for importing animal feed with Cysteamine.
